Training aggressive dogs is hard, but not for the reasons one might think. Most dog training is oriented around teaching information. So what happens when our dog needs social and emotional support? What happens when this lack results in our dog acting out in a way that is dangerous? The answer is dog training breaks down and we are stuck with the same fear and confusion that our dog is experiencing.
Our solution is a dogcentric approach where we aim to understand what our dog is going through and then respond in a meaningful way. A simple hack that lends itself to more successfully tapping our natural born intuition for answers is: my dog is socially brilliant & my dog thinks like a good person. Ultimately, if you don’t know who you are talking to, its hard to make sense. With this foundational belief about your dog you will find it intuitive and fun to start to identify, what is my dog going through and how to I respond in a meaningful way. It is uplifting and inspiring to see how “dog listening” can lead to quick transformations for dogs and their families who have been struggling for years and have already tried “everything”.
